WHAT DO YOU GUYS DO?
Short answer? DOGS and DISASTERS!
Long Answer? Hill Country Rescue & Recovery will walk into your life on the hardest day, scoop you up and get moving!
Jennifer calls it “ADHD/Only Child Energy!”
Hill Country Rescue & Recovery has two different parts. When a disaster hits Central Texas, we have the ability to mobilize quickly. We have a network of volunteers and resources to get in and HELP! Whether that’s debris removal, mucking out space, if mother nature did it, we are on our way!
Jennifer is a 1998 flood survivor, so she’s been there! Now she’s known for her pink HUNTER rainboots, traipsing through massive debris piles, slinging chainsaws! (You’d never guess when you see her, but watch out! She can DEFINITELY hang with the boys!)
And Luckily, Disasters don’t happen everyday! So what do we do in between?
Hill Country Rescue & Recovery also assists local pet owners in finding lost pets! We have an amazing group of volunteers who have YEARS of combined experience in the animal rescue world. We can help you make sure you’ve covered all your bases and respond to sightings and offer support and resources for bringing a beloved pet home!
WHEN DO YOU SLEEP?
We’ve been asked this before! See above *ADHD/Only Child Energy!
Like our shirts say, we’re powered by Adrenaline, Dopamine and Caffeine!
WHAT IF I SEE A STRAY?
We ONLY work with pet owners and local rescues to find lost pets that have homes. Because we aren’t a rescue, we don’t have the capacity to take on strays. We’ve learned in the dog world that you’re most effective when you can maintain boundaries with your work. Burnout happens when you try to do it all. TRUST US, we’ve been there!
WHAT AREA(S) DO YOU SERVE?
We’re located in Dripping Springs. We started lost pet recovery in the area to meet a need. Austin area groups stay busy, it’s hard to get someone out to the Dripping Springs area, but with ranch fencing and larger lots/land, pups get out. We primarily serve the Dripping Springs and surrounding areas at this time.
In times of Disaster – We go where we’re needed, within Texas!
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST ME?
We operate 100% on volunteers, donations and sponsorships! For EVERYTHING we do!
With that being said, our work isn’t free. We use some of the best equipment available, we put everything we’ve got into our work. We rely on support from the community to do what we do! While we will not accept payment, we will always accept donations! And because Hill Country Rescue & Recovery is a Texas 501(c)(3) Nonprofit, all donations are tax deductible. We have one time and ongoing support options available through our donation page.
